WELCOME TO INDIA by Nuria

INDIA

This country is famous for its palaces, the clothes in India are full of colours. In this country the food is very spicy.The cows are sacred in India.



THE TAJ MAHAL

The Taj Mahal was built in 1600s. It was a mausoleum (a building constructed for honouring and protecting someone who died) for the Emperor`s favourite wife. Twenty thousand people worked in this palace. It took twenty-two years to make it.






THE SARI
The "sari" is a women traditional dress in India
A sari is a long piece of clothing. In special occasions 
the sari is decorated with embroidery or tiny mirrors.





CRICKET
In India the national sport is the Cricket.
The British took the cricket to India and India
is one of the few countries in the world where
cricket is popular.  




SCHOOL
In India the students wear school uniform.
The children speak English and India´s official language,
Hindi. There are about one million schools in India.
Most of the children go to school until 14 years old.


GANESH
Gansesh is a god in Hindu religion.
It has big ears, elephant's trunk and
big stomach. It is the god of good fortune
education, wealth and wisdom.
Lots of Indians are Hindu.




SACRED COW
In India the cow is a sacred animal
because they are the symbol of 
abundance. Hindus respect cows
and don´t eat beef.
