REPORT:A dog race by nuria

In 13th February there is an unusual race between Alaska and Canada.

The participants are the"HUSKIES"and its called "YUKON QUEST".

Mushers have special trucks. In these trucks they transport dogs.The dogs have compartments.

The dogs run 65 kilometres every day. The veterinarian examines the dogs when the dogs stop.

The dogs stop for eating and sleeping. The dogs sleep on straw.

The "YUKON QUEST" is a sled dog race in Alaska and Canada. 

The mushers have from 8 to 14 dogs. They race 1,650 kilometres.

The dogs have bootees. The bootees protect dogs from the cold.
