Steve Jobs was an entrepreneur and inventor. He was the cofounder and CEO of Apple, Pixar and NeXT.
His full name was Steven Paul Jobs. He was born in San Francisco, CA, on February 24th, 1955. He was adopted at birth by Paul and Clara Jobs. He had a sister, Patty, adopted too. He was married twice. His children are Lisa, Reed, Erin, and Eve.
Paul, Steve's father, showed him how to work with electronics. Because of that he got interested in them since he was young.
In High School he met Steve Wozniak, a guy interested on electronics and computers too, who became his friend. They worked together on lots of projects. When Steve went to the University, he just stayed there for a few months. After leaving the University he spent several months attending creative classes, including calligraphy.
In his early career he worked at ATARI, a video games company. In this years he also went to India. He got interested in Zen Buddhism.
In 1976 he and Steve Wozniak founded Apple Inc. In 1984 they invented and launched a new computer that was revolutionary. But one year later, he got fired from Apple due to problems with other executives.
After he was fired, he founded NeXT. While he was working there, they created a very innovative software called NeXTSTEP. In 1986 he founded PIXAR, a computer animation film studio. They have made very cool movies like Toy Story, Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, Monsters Inc., Ratatouille, Brave, WALL-E, Up, and lots more.
In 1996 NeXT was bought by Apple, and after that, Steve goes back as CEO at Apple. After that, Apple makes up a new generation of computers: iMac.
In 2001, Apple presents iPod, a digital device to listen to music, and it was an amazing success. Two years later, iTunes is created. The device that made them one of the biggest companies in the world was the iPhone, which was presented in 2007.
Steve Jobs dies of cancer in October 5th, 2011, in Palo Alto, CA, just a year later after launching the iPad.
