A DOG RACE IN ALASKA

The Yukon quest is a sled-dog race.
On 13th of February the huskies and their mushers participate in the race .
The race is between Alaska and Canada .
The mushers have special trucks to transport their dogs,the dogs have separate compartments.
The dogs race 65km everyday , when the dogs stop a veterinarian examines them.
In 24 hours the dogs stop three times to eat and sleep.They sleep on straw.
They have special bootees to protect them from the cold . The mushers have 8 to 14 dogs.They race 1.650km on snow and ice.
